Data Hub F.A.Q.
What is the Data Hub?
The Data Hub is Mnemonic's unified marketing data platform. It automatically connects, cleans, and consolidates data from all of your marketing tools into a single source of truth. Instead of logging into a dozen platforms, exporting CSVs, and stitching spreadsheets together, the Data Hub pulls everything into one place. Cleaned, standardized, and ready to use. Think of it as the foundation that makes all of your marketing data reliable, accessible, and actionable.
Who is the Data Hub for?
The Data Hub is built for marketing teams, data analysts, and business leaders who are tired of wrestling with fragmented data. Whether you are a performance marketer trying to understand cross-channel ROI, a brand manager who needs a unified view of customer engagement, or a CMO who wants trustworthy dashboards. The Data Hub gives you a single, reliable data layer to work from. No engineering resources required.
What problem does a unified data platform solve?
Most marketing teams operate with data scattered across dozens of platforms, ad managers, CRMs, email tools, analytics suites, and spreadsheets. This creates silos where no one has the full picture, dashboards break when data formats change, and hours get burned on manual CSV exports and cleanup every week. The Data Hub eliminates all of that by automatically connecting your sources, standardizing the data, and keeping everything synchronized in real time. Your team stops managing data and starts using it.
How is this different from building our own data pipeline?
Building and maintaining custom data pipelines requires dedicated engineering resources, ongoing maintenance as APIs change, and constant troubleshooting when things break. The Data Hub gives you 100+ pre-built connectors that are maintained by Mnemonic, automated data cleaning that would take months to replicate in-house, and enterprise-grade security out of the box. You get a production-ready data platform in days, not months, without tying up your engineering team.
What platforms does it connect to?
The Data Hub includes pre-built connectors covering all major marketing, advertising, CRM, and analytics platforms. This includes Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bing Ads, Reddit, Amazon DSP, HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Shopify, and many more. If your team uses it for marketing, there is almost certainly a connector ready to go.
How do connections work?
Connections are set up through one-click OAuth authentication, the same secure "Sign in with..." flow you use every day. There are no API keys to manage, no credentials to configure, and no code to write. You authorize the connection, select what data you want to pull, and the Data Hub handles everything from there. Most connectors are live within minutes.
Can we add new data sources over time?
Absolutely. You can add new connectors at any point without disrupting your existing data. As your marketing stack evolves, maybe you add a new ad platform or switch CRMs, you simply connect the new source and it is automatically integrated, cleaned, and unified alongside everything else. The Data Hub is designed to grow with your business.
How often does the data sync?
The Data Hub provides real-time data synchronization if you need it. Your data is continuously updated so that dashboards, reports, and downstream tools always reflect the latest numbers. There is no waiting for overnight batch jobs or manually triggering refreshes, the data flows automatically as soon as it is available from the source platform. If you have other needs like large quarterly batch updates, we're happy to accommodate.
What if we use a platform that is not in the connector list?
Mnemonic is constantly expanding the connector library based on client needs. If you use a platform that is not yet supported, let us know during onboarding and we will evaluate adding it. In many cases, custom connectors can be built to accommodate niche or proprietary platforms. The goal is that no data source gets left behind.
How does automated data cleaning work?
The Data Hub automatically standardizes data as it flows in from each source. This includes normalizing field names, standardizing date formats and currencies, deduplicating records, and resolving inconsistencies between platforms. What would normally take analysts hours of manual spreadsheet work happens continuously and automatically in the background.
What does "AI-powered field mapping" mean?
Different platforms use different names for the same thing, one calls it "email," another calls it "email_address," and a third calls it "contact_email." The Data Hub uses AI to intelligently recognize that these fields represent the same data and maps them together automatically. This means your unified dataset is consistent and queryable without manual mapping work every time you add a new source.
How do we know the data is accurate?
The Data Hub runs continuous quality checks around the clock. It monitors for anomalies, flags data that looks inconsistent, and alerts you to potential issues before they affect your reporting. This 24/7 quality maintenance means you can trust the numbers in your dashboards rather than second-guessing whether someone made a copy-paste error in a spreadsheet.
Does it handle conflicting data from different sources?
Yes. When the same metric or record appears differently across platforms, the Data Hub applies intelligent conflict resolution rules to determine the most reliable value. It understands the hierarchy and authority of different data sources so that discrepancies are resolved consistently rather than arbitrarily. You always get a single, clean version of the truth.
Can we set custom rules or mappings?
Yes. While the Data Hub handles the vast majority of cleaning and mapping automatically, you can define custom rules for situations unique to your business. This includes custom field mappings, business-specific naming conventions, and rules for how particular data conflicts should be resolved. The system adapts to your needs rather than forcing you into a rigid structure.
How is our data protected?
Your data is protected with enterprise-grade security at every level. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard protocols. The platform enforces granular access controls so you determine exactly who can see what. Infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud services with continuous monitoring, and Mnemonic follows strict security practices across development, deployment, and operations.
Who can access our data?
Only the users you explicitly authorize. The Data Hub provides granular access controls that let you define permissions at the team or individual level. You decide who can view data, who can manage connections, and who has administrative access. Permissions can be updated at any time as your team changes.
Is it compliant with GDPR and privacy regulations?
Yes. The Data Hub is designed with data privacy at its core. It complies with GDPR and other major privacy regulations, ensuring that personal data is handled responsibly and transparently. Your data is never shared with third parties, never used to train external models, and is always under your control.
How do marketing teams use the Data Hub day to day?
Marketing teams use the Data Hub as their single source of truth for all campaign performance, customer data, and channel analytics. Instead of pulling reports from five different platforms every Monday morning, they open one unified view. Analysts build cross-channel dashboards, performance marketers compare spend efficiency across platforms, and brand managers track customer engagement. All from the same trustworthy dataset.
How does it help optimize ad spend?
When all of your advertising data lives in one place, Google Ads, Facebook, TikTok, Amazon DSP, Bing, and more, you can finally compare performance across channels apples-to-apples. The Data Hub makes it easy to see where your money is working hardest, spot underperforming channels quickly, and reallocate budget based on real cross-platform data rather than gut feeling or siloed reports. For more sophisticated analyses and AI supported insights, you can use the Analytics Hub on top of the data hub.
How does it help reduce customer churn?
By unifying CRM, email, and engagement data, the Data Hub lets you identify at-risk customers before they leave. You can spot patterns like declining email engagement, reduced purchase frequency, or support ticket spikes across your unified dataset. Signals that would be invisible when your data is trapped in separate platforms.
How does it enable personalization?
Personalization requires knowing your customers across every touchpoint. The Data Hub unifies behavioral data from ads, email, web analytics, and CRM into a single customer view. This gives your team the complete picture needed to segment audiences meaningfully and deliver relevant experiences rather than relying on incomplete data from a single channel.
What ROI can we expect?
Clients typically see value in three areas: time savings from eliminating manual data exports and cleanup (often 10+ hours per week per analyst), cost reduction from consolidating redundant tools and dashboards, and revenue growth from better cross-channel insights that improve targeting, spend allocation, and customer retention. The exact ROI depends on your current data complexity, but the impact compounds as more sources are connected.
What does onboarding look like?
Onboarding follows a simple process: 1. Discovery: We review your current marketing stack and identify the data sources you want to connect. 2. Connect: We set up your connectors using one-click OAuth, pulling data from all of your platforms into the Data Hub. 3. Clean and unify: The Data Hub automatically standardizes, deduplicates, and maps your data into a single unified dataset. 4. Validate: We review the unified data with your team to ensure accuracy and completeness.
How long does setup take?
Most clients are up and running within days, not weeks. The one-click connectors and automated cleaning dramatically accelerate setup compared to building a custom pipeline. The exact timeline depends on how many sources you are connecting, but the Data Hub is designed to deliver value fast. Mnemonic handles the heavy lifting so your team can stay focused on their work.
What do we need to provide?
You will need your login access to the marketing platforms you want to connect (for OAuth authorization), a list of team members who need access along with their roles, and any custom business rules or naming conventions you want applied during data cleaning. That is it. No engineering work, no infrastructure setup, and no ongoing technical maintenance on your end.
We already have a data warehouse or CDP. Why do we need this?
A data warehouse stores data. The Data Hub makes it usable. Most warehouses require engineering resources to build and maintain pipelines, write transformations, and troubleshoot breakages. CDPs focus narrowly on customer profiles. The Data Hub sits upstream and handles the hardest part: connecting, cleaning, and unifying data from 100+ sources automatically. It can feed clean, standardized data into your existing warehouse or CDP, making both more valuable.
Our team manages CSV exports fine. Why change?
CSV exports might feel manageable today, but they introduce constant risk: stale data, copy-paste errors, broken formulas, and hours of manual work every week. The Data Hub replaces that fragile process with real-time, automated data that is always clean, always current, and always consistent. Your team gets those hours back to spend on strategy and analysis instead of data wrangling.
What if our data is messy?
That is exactly what the Data Hub is designed to handle. Messy data, inconsistent naming, duplicate records, conflicting formats across platforms, is the norm, not the exception. The Data Hub's automated cleaning and AI-powered field mapping are purpose-built to take messy inputs and produce clean, standardized outputs. The messier your data is today, the more value you will see immediately.
How does the Data Hub work with Buyer Personas and the Digital Twin?
The Data Hub is the foundational data layer of the Mnemonic platform. It feeds clean, unified marketing data into Buyer Personas for richer audience profiling and into the Digital Twin for more accurate, data-grounded answers. Think of the Data Hub as the engine: Buyer Personas and the Digital Twin become significantly more powerful when they are running on complete, reliable data rather than fragments from individual platforms.
What if we only want to connect a few sources?
That is a perfectly fine place to start. Many clients begin with their highest-priority platforms, perhaps Google Ads, their CRM, and email, and expand from there as they see the value. The Data Hub is modular by design, so you can connect two sources or two hundred. There is no minimum requirement, and adding new sources later takes minutes, not months.
